The Royal Rangers of Outpost #91, sponsored by The Dwelling Place, have spent several evenings picking up litter at Jefferson parks. The boys have already cleaned up Chautauqua, Kelso and Russell parks.
The group is completing a leadership course with the Service 201 merit. As a group the boys decided that picking up trash in the parks would be a worthy service project. “It is helpful to the parks department to have these young men pick up trash to help keep our parks looking nice. The parks department spend a lot of time mowing in the summer and have little time available to pick up the trash in the parks. We appreciate groups pitching in and helping,” said Jefferson park and recreation director Vicky Lautner.
